Empower Your Recovery Journey with Scar therapy
SCAR THERAPY AT VELALLURE
Many people do not realise the physical impact scars have on their bodies, whether it is a minor scar acquired during childhood from falling off a bike, a teenage football injury, or a scar from a C-section after giving birth or post-cancer treatments. While not every scar presents a problem, many scars restrict movement and compromise other body parts, leading to discomfort and pain. It’s often not widely known that function, mobility, feeling, and appearance can be improved with scar treatment. Each scar carries a unique story that can impact individuals both emotionally and physically in various ways. For this reason, Gabriela become passionate about scar therapy.

Gabriela's journey towards scar therapy began with a personal experience, a scar on her face from a road bike accident. This life-changing event led her to help people in their recovery. With her great knowledge about body and skin, and experience in scar therapy, Gabriela has witnessed remarkable transformations in her patients, often just after one session.
These improvements include an appearance, a noticeable softening of the scar and the surrounding tissue, reduced pulling, heightened sensation in the treated area, enhanced posture, reduced pain, increased range of motion, and a re-connection with their body.
At Velallure we offer the RESTORE Scar Therapy method developed by UK’s leading scar therapy teacher and Harley Street scar specialist, Emma Holly.

What is Restore Scar Therapy/ Scar Massage?

Restore Scar Therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free, natural treatment designed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis, and adhesions after surgery or injury using specialised gentle scar massage and fascial release techniques to promote healthy recovery.

How can Scar Therapy help me?

Whether you have recently undergone surgery or experienced an injury, Gabriela can treat your scar to stimulate healing, soften fibrosis as the scar matures, and provide self-care recommendations to continue at home. Scar Therapy can even benefit older scars.
As the body constantly renews cells, your old scar can still improve with the right stimulation. While we can't make a scar disappear, scar therapy treatment typically improves symptoms such as pain or sensitivity. Textural changes to the suppleness of the scar and surrounding tissue often occur. The number of treatments required will depend on your specific scar issues and symptoms.
When can I start the treatment on my scar?
Scar treatment can commence once the skin has fully healed over the wound and the scab has disappeared.

Which scars can we treat?

At Velallure Skin & Scar Therapy Clinic we can treat ALL scars. We offer scar treatment for both men and women on any type of scars.
Examples of scars we treat at the clinic: cancer surgery: mastectomy; abdominal: c- section, appendectomy, bowel surgery; hip and knee replacement; hand, wrist, or arm surgeries; injuries sustained from a road traffic accident and Facial scars; cleft lip, after facelift, after injury, neck surgery .

Understanding the Treatment Process
Your journey with us begins with a comprehensive 60-minute consultation, assessment and treatment tailored to your scar and needs. Where we go over your full medical history, closely examine your scar, and assess how the scar is affecting your movements. Together we choose the best course of action for the most effective scar change. Then we will treat your scar using following therapies:
-
Manual scar massage technique
-
Cupping
-
Scar products (oils, silicon patches, gels)
-
Skin needling

Throughout your appointment, we continuously evaluate your scar's response to the treatment. You are always in control, with every therapy choice explained step by step.

Post-treatment, you'll receive a personalised home care plan with self-scar massage guidance to accelerate your scar's recovery.

While some improvement may be visible after one session, the best results are achieved through a series of treatments. The number of treatments needed depends on factors such as the scar's size, age, and the presence of plates or pins.

It's important to note that a scar can take up to two years to mature fully, and our approach differs (for scars that are not yet 2 years old, compared to ones that are older that 2 years).

If you are currently under consultant care, you may need a letter of authorisation for scar treatment from your consultant to commence.
